BUILDING INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION OF SAN DIEGO COUNTY
2017 COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION
BIA Cares of San Diego County is offering scholarships to full time, two, three, and four
year technical, vocational, and college/university students who seek to pursue a career
related to the residential and commercial building/development industry.
ELIGIBILITY
Scholarships are open to full time college students who graduated from a high school in San Diego
County or college students living and attending college here in San Diego. In addition, you
must be a California resident. The Scholarship Committee is seeking for students who can
demonstrate an interest in pursuing a career in the building industry. Many majors play an integral
role in the building industry, such as advertising, business, finance, construction management,
architecture, engineering, carpentry, city planning, real estate, and interior design, to name a few.
SELECTION CRITERIA
The Scholarship Committee awards scholarships to students who demonstrate an interest in
pursuing a career in the building industry. Scholarships are also awarded based on other
qualifications, including academics, personal achievement, and financial need.

APPLICATION PROCESS
Applicants must complete the application and return it to the BIA Cares Scholarship Committee
at the Building Industry Association, 9201 Spectrum Center Boulevard, Suite 110, San Diego,
CA 92123, by Friday , May 26, 2017. Please submit a copy of your transcripts (official or unofficial acceptable) together with the application.
